When tank space is very limited and installation positions are restricted, the FRIESS BS belt oil skimmer continuously removes floating oil from tanks as small as 100 × 100 mm. Its oleophilic belt collects oil from the liquid surface, while the scraper mechanism discharges the recovered oil. It is ideal for machine-tool emulsion tanks, compact degreasing baths and other space-constrained process tanks.
The three models mainly differ in belt length and discharge height. The BS10 has a 1,150 mm belt and a 334 mm discharge height; the BS20 uses a 1,500 mm belt and a 509 mm discharge height; the BS30 uses a 2,200 mm belt and an 858 mm discharge height. All three are 160 mm wide and recover 2–15 L/h.
The BS uses a continuously circulating oleophilic belt and fits extremely small spaces down to 100 × 100 mm. Tube oil skimmers use a floating collection tube and are better suited to larger tanks and basins.
The circulating oleophilic belt enters the liquid and collects floating oil. At the top, scraper blades remove the oil into a collection tray before the belt returns to the tank for continuous operation.
The BS is supplied as a prefabricated system and requires no complex commissioning. In typical installations it can be ready for operation within about 30 minutes.
Typical applications include machine-tool emulsion tanks, compact degreasing systems, CNC metalworking, surface treatment, small wastewater systems and other narrow process tanks.
Beyond cost savings, FRIESS oil skimmers, electrostatic oil cleaners, magnetic filters, coolant purification systems, oil-water separators and vacuum oil purifiers provide many additional benefits.
