The cleaning process is particularly practical. Unlike the fully automatic ASMF, the SMF is cleaned manually using only a few external levers. The filter does not need to be opened, keeping the operator’s hands clean while minimising maintenance effort.
The FRIESS SMF magnetic filter reliably attracts ferromagnetic metal particles smaller than 1 µm and removes them from the process fluid. Three or five concentrically arranged filter rods use powerful neodymium magnets to create a strong magnetic field that captures even very fine particles. This filtration principle requires no filter consumables or additional energy, keeping operating costs exceptionally low.
